We are a host family organisation with the desire to bring cultures together, share experiences, learn and enable students to practice their English language in a safe and happy family environment.
We provide short-term Host Family Accommodation for International schools, colleges, parents and older students who travel to Nottingham for the purpose of education, language, culture and work experience.
I have always had an interest in learning about different cultures around the world and so I thought it would be amazing to incorporate this into my everyday life. In 2017, I was made aware of an urgent need to offer overseas school groups alternative destinations and culture programs, in order to reduce the risk of having so many visiting children in capital cities such as London. London has always been the obvious choice for international students coming to the UK, however, I believe that Nottingham provides a safer and better value experience and so this is where Nottingham Host Families began!
Having lived here my whole life, I have really come to appreciate this city and all that it has to offer. Sitting in the heart of the East Midlands with superb road and rail links, more valuable time can be spent learning about the rich history, such as our participation in the Industrial revolution, forming part of school curriculums. It is so much easier to visit local places of interest without all of the heavy traffic and queues. Therefore, Nottingham felt like the perfect place to host students and provide an unforgettable experience.
For the greater good! In the current political environment, Britain is increasingly perceived by other nations to be less welcoming of international visitors. We aim to provide every overseas student or school group a much more positive reality, offering them an outstanding experience and wonderful memories that will bring them back again in the future.
